(28- 36 months)
2 hour program; 3 days a week
Monday/Wednesday/Friday AM - 9:30 – 11:30

Young children are filled with a strong sense of curiosity, energy and a love
for learning. We know that children learn best when they are in a nurturing
environment that is accepting of individual temperaments and abilities. Open
Door provides a program that offers enriching activities to help encourage your
child’s social, physical, emotional and creative development.
Under
the guidance of three early childhood teachers, your child will have the
opportunity to use his or her fine motor skills while painting, gluing, cutting
and working with play dough. Opportunities are provided to develop gross motor
skills by providing age appropriate physical challenges through activities such
as dance, music, games and by enjoying our large, outdoor playground. Language
skills are stimulated through the use of books, finger plays, puppets, flannel
boards and teacher-directed activities.
Children are helped to develop social skills and interact appropriately with
their peers. They learn to take turns, use words to get their needs met, and
resolving conflicts peacefully.
PARENT GROUP meets once a week in the parent room while the children
participate in activities in the adjoining classroom and outdoor playground.
Separation evolves as a gentle and gradual process dictated by the individual
needs of each child and parent. We consider separation as on going and not a one
time event. We welcome a parent to stay in the classroom until both the child
and parent feels secure enough to separate.
A small class size and three early childhood teachers, guarantees individual
attention and support.
* Potty training is not required to attend our programs.
